The person who attempted to mix fake and legal currency notes and deposit them in the bank was apprehended in the Asela City district of Klalo, according to Asela City criminal investigator Sergeant Chaltu Girma.
According to reports, Mohamed Faye went into Awash Bank’s Klalo branch to deposit 5,000 birr in counterfeit notes. After attempting to deceive bank employees by mixing only 1,400 original birr, the suspect was apprehended.
The bank’s staff reported the incident to the police, and the suspect was apprehended red-handed.
