ADDIS ABABA – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has held talks with the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, to ease border tension between the two countries.
The two sides held the talks today on the sidelines of the 39th Extraordinary Assembly of the IGAD Heads of State and Government in Nairobi, Kenya.
In the discussions, Prime Minister Abiy said, “We have both agreed that our two countries have plenty of collaborative elements to work on peacefully.”
“Our common bonds surpass any divisions,” Abiy said “We both made a commitment for dialogue & peaceful resolution to outstanding issues.”
