ADDIS ABABA- Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce AND Sectoral Associations (Addis Chamber) signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement with Hibret Bank to work in partnership.
The MoU was signed between Mesenbet Shenkute, president of the chamber, and Melaku kebede, Chief Executive Officer of Hibret Bank, on Wednesday.
The intents of the agreement included modernizing chamber’s financial system through advanced technologies, Addis Chamber said.
The signing comes in the middle of the ongoing reform, said Addis chamber president Mesenbet after the signing the MoU.
The chamber and the Bank have agreed to work together in modernizing chamber’s services to membership and the business community, she added.
The bank is also ready in modernize membership fee collection process of the chamber, said Melaku.
The bank is willing to strengthen relations, through supporting different business events being organized by the chamber.
The agreement serves as a base for further cooperation in the future, including participating in the Chamber’s Headquarters building project, Melaku added.
The agreement also included loan and credit facilities to chamber employees, it was reported.
Secretary General of Addis Chamber, Shebeshi Bettemariam, said on the occasion, the agreement would favor both parties to jointly work on various activities such as training and social responsibility.
Addis chamber is also willing to work jointly with other banks in the future, he added.
