Ethiopia lost 0-2 to Guinea in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Stade Mohammed V on Friday night.
François Kamano opened the scoring for Guinea in 37 minutes and Mohamed Bayo sealed the win midway through the second half.
The Walias dropped to the bottom of Group D with three points while Guinea held second place with six points.
On the current form, the Walias may find it difficult to qualify for the next AFCON to be held beginning in January 2024 in the Ivory Coast.
Ethiopia has now gone on a run of four competitive matches without a victory – including a draw and two losses in the Chan tournament.
In another Group D match, last year’s Afcon runner-up Egypt recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over Malawi in Cairo, skipper Mohamed Salah starring with a goal and an assist.
