Covid-19: Ethiopia Records Zero Fatalities for 10 days in a row

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has confirmed 17 more Covid-19 infections on Tuesday as it continues to see zero related fatalities for 10 consecutive days.

The new positive cases have been identified from 6, 732 Coronavirus tests carried out in the past twenty-four hours, a ministry of health report shows.



The report also says the Covid-19 death toll stays at 7, 509 after recording no fatalities on the day.

The nation has continued to register less daily recovery than new infections with only 12 patients recuperating from the acute respiratory disease in the reported period.

There are now 21 severely sick patients getting treatments in hospitals, the report notes.
The patients are among the 9, 136 confirmed active cases in the country.

– Vaccine drive at standstill –

The vaccination pace has remained at a standstill after health officials report indicates that no shots of Covid-19 vaccine given in the past 24-hours.



The East African nation has administered over 29.41 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine while fully vaccinating over 24.5 million people against the virus.

The vaccination campaign was launched a year after health officials recorded Ethiopia’s first Coronavirus case in March, 2020.

To date, the nation has confirmed 470, 305 cases. About 453, 658 of these patients have already recovered, the ministry reports.
