ADDIS ABEBA – Dr. Mulu Nega Kahsay has been appointed as the Chief Executive of the Tigray Regional State.
The appointment was made “on the basis of the decision of the House of Federation and the Council of Ministers Regulation ‘Concerning the Provisional Administration of the Tigray National Regional State’, says a statement from the Prime Minister office on Friday.
Dr. Mulu will recruit and appoint heads to lead executive organs of the regional state from political parties legally operating in the region, according to the statement.
Prior to this appointment, Mulu (PhD) served as State Minister of Science and Higher Education (MoSHE) of Ethiopia for over nine months. He was in charge of the education and training on higher education and TVET areas.
