ADDIS ABABA – The East African military intelligence institutions on Sunday agreed to work together on the security and related issues in the region.
Addis Ababa hosted the East African Defense Intelligence Forum which was attended by Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia and Djibouti.
The participating countries agreed to closely work on border protection, cyber, social media, Social issues of environmental protection and youth unemployment with a view to “building peaceful and stable Africa”.
They also signed agreement to work together in fighting terrorists and anti-peace forces, said Defence Ministry in a statement.
Participants of the forum, which involves an experience sharing part in the field, visited the Headquarters of Ethiopian Ministry of Defense, Information Network Security Agency (INSA) and the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute.
Uganda will host the next East African Defense Intelligence Forum.
