Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonen discussed with the visiting Danish Development Cooperation Minister Dan Jørgensen on Tuesday.
During the discussion, Foreign minister Demeke reiterated that Denmark is Ethiopia’s key development partner.
He further stated the government’s desire for the two countries to strengthen their relations in various fields of cooperation.
He expressed gratitude to the Danish Government for taking a reasonable stance when Ethiopia was facing a challenging situation due to the conflict in the country’s north.
The government is resolutely working to ensure enduring peace, said the Minister, who briefed Jørgensen about the implementation of the Peace deal.
Demeke also said the Government is developing a plan to rebuild and rehabilitate war-affected areas, appealing for the Danish government to assist in the effort.
For his part, Dan Jørgensen reflected on the years of development cooperation between Ethiopia and Denmark.
his nation wants to elevate this relationship, said the Danish cooperation development minister.
Jørgensen also expressed his hope that the peace deal signed between TPLF and the Ethiopian Government would contribute to bringing long-lasting peace to the nation.
