ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has registered 20 new cases Covid-19 as 136 patients recuperated from the disease in the last twenty-four hours, a Ministry of health report says.
The report issued on Thursday evening states that the patients diagnosed with the Coronavirus today have brought the nation’s confirmed total to 492, 894.
The recovery count, on the other hand, has reached 471,237, the Ministry said after adding 136 recoveries on Thursday.
The relative increase in recovery has brought the active cases in the country down by 116 to 15,084.
The cumulative number of severe cases in the country has remained unchanged, as per health officials report.
Twelve seriously sick patients of the Covid-19 are still getting medical treatment in the hospital.
The ministry has also not confirmed additional Covid-related fatality in the 24 hours as the nation recorded zero death cases for four consecutive days.
At least 7,571 people have passed away due to the Coronavirus since the first Covid related death was confirmed in Ethiopia on April 5, 2020.
Health officials are still advising the public to be vigilant and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from the respiratory disease.
However, they have not provided a single dose of the covid vaccine to the public in the last 24 hours, the data in the latest update shows.
Ethiopia started its the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in March 2021. Since then, nearly 52.6 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered nationwide. More than 43.1 million people have also received at least two shots of the vaccine.
