ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded 36 new Covid-19 cases today amid a drop in the number of severely sick patients, a Ministry of Health report shows.
The patients diagnosed with the disease covid-19 on Thursday have taken the confirmed tally in the country to 492, 667.
Only 26 patients have also recovered from the Covid-19 disease in the reported period. The recovery count currently stands at 470,895.
The report has also noted the number of severely sick patients with Covid-19 has dropped by seven to 14 in the last twenty-four hours.
These patients are among the 14,201 confirmed active cases in the East African nation.
Health officials have not registered any Coronavirus-related fatalities today, taking the number of days with zero covid death to seven.
The country last recorded a covid-related death on Friday, August 4, 2022.
A least 7,569 people have lost their lives due to the Coronavirus since the pandemic hit the nation more than two years ago.
Despite a drop in daily severe and fatality cases, health officials are still urging the public to be vigilant about the virus and to get vaccinated.
Ethiopia started offering the Covid-19 vaccine to its citizens in March, last year.
To date, it has administered more than 52.56 million doses of the vaccine, while over 43.1 people have received at least two shots of the vaccine.
