Ethiopia Sees Zero Zero Covid-Related Deaths for Three Days in Row

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has recorded zero Covid-19 deaths for three consecutive days as more patients continue to recover from the disease, the ministry of health reports on Tuesday.

The nation last registered a Covid-19 disease-related fatalities on Saturday last week. Since then, the death toll has remained at 7, 491.



Today’s report also says 23 more Covid-19 infections have been confirmed from 5,869 people tested in the last twenty-four hours, taking confirmed cases tally in the country to 469, 679.

At least 439, 113 of the confirmed patients have already recuperated from the acute respiratory disease so far. About 1,993 of the recoveries were registered in the past twenty-four hours, the report indicates.

Currently, there are 23, 072 active cases in the nation. Of which, 14 patients are severely sick, reports the ministry.

Health officials have also continued to provide the Covid-19 vaccine today albeit at a relatively small rate.



Over 2, 749 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the reported period, taking the total number of vaccine shots given to the nation to over 29.38 million.

More than 24.5 million Ethiopians are also fully vaccinated against the virus, the ministry of health reports.

Health officials of the East African nation started offering the Covid-19 vaccine in March, 2021.
