ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia is set to host a national investment forum that aims to promote its investment potentials to Diaspora investors from 11 to 14 January in Addis Ababa.
The Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) said the forum would inform the Diaspora community about the types of incentives they could get to engage in priority areas.
Textile, agriculture, industrial parks, health and logistics are among the areas that the government prioritized for private investors.
“As these sectors have huge potential in the transformation of Ethiopia’s economy, the session gives due emphasis to attract quality investment that will have the capacity to tap the huge potential,” said Lelise Neme, Commissioner of EIC.
During a press briefing she held along with Addis Ababa Investment Commission head, Girma Seifu, Lelise called the Diaspora community interested to invest in home country to take part in the event.
The two investment offices have also scheduled various sideline events including panel discussion, presentation, parks tour, exhibition and others during the four-day long event.
Companies that are already investing in Ethiopia will share their experience for the Diaspora community while various ministries will present the investment opportunities in the respective sectors.
“The industrial parks visit also intends to avail the opportunity for members of the Diaspora to be Ethiopia’s investment ambassador to the international community,” Lelise said.
The EIC encouraged interested Diasporas who are keen to participate in the event to use an online registration platform ([email protected]) for registration.
