ADDIS ABABA – The Ministry of Industry and UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on Tuesday signed a €2 million project agreement to support Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks in Ethiopia.
The agreement was signed between Shisema Gebreselassie, state Minister of Industry, and Aurelia Patrizia, UNIDO’ country director, in Addis Ababa.
The three-year project aims at promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth through creation of Employment in rural areas, said UNIDO Ethiopia.
It will also support creating market link between smallholder farmers, small-scale agro-processing enterprises, and partner industries.
The project is financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), according to the ministry.
