Ethiopian Airlines Reconnects Dembi Dolo to Domestic Flight Network

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Airlines Group has begun domestic flight service to Dembi Dolo town and says it will move all domestic flight departures from Addis Ababa Bole Airport to the newly renovated Terminal One.

The national flag carrier has expanded its domestic flight service to South-Western Ethiopia with the launch of a thrice weekly passenger service to Dembi Dollo starting from Feb 26, 2024.



“We are pleased to announce the reconnection of Dembi Dolo to Addis Ababa and the rest of our domestic network by air,” Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said on Monday.

The CEO says this air service provides a safe and convenient means of transport for the people of Dembi Dolo and the surrounding area.

“Additionally, we believe that this air service will stimulate socio-economic development in the region by facilitating tourism, trade, and investment. This initiative demonstrates Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to developing air transport services throughout Ethiopia,” he added.”

The commencement of the new passenger service to Dembi Dollo allows convenient travel to the southwestern part of Ethiopia.

Its launch coincides with the completion of the completion of renovation and expansion of Terminal I at Addis Ababa Bole Airport

“We are proud to announce the successful completion of renovation and expansion of Terminal I at Addis Ababa Bole Airport,” the airline says in a statement

The terminal, which previously served domestic flights, has undergone significant changes as part of a project to enhance the airport’s capacity and efficiency.

Domestic Travelers departing from Addis Ababa will use terminal I for departure and check-ins as on Feb 27, 2024.

The national flag carrier says the group will continue to work on enhancing domestic airport facilities and passenger experience.

“Reinforcing this commitment, Ethiopian will continue to renovate and expand domestic airports across the country,” the statement reads.

Ethiopian Airlines operates passenger flights to 22 domestic destinations in the east African nation.
