Gedaa Bank begins Operation

ADDIS ABABA – Gedaa bank S.C. has officially started providing financial services today, making it the 30th commercial banks operating in Ethiopia.

The bank held the official opening ceremony of its first branch in Gotera area of Addis Ababa in presence of Abba Geddas and government officials.

Oromia region President Shimelis Abdisa, and National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) Governor Yinager Dessie, were among the attedants.

Gedaa Bank’s first CEO Wolde Bultu said the bank started providing services in accordance with the NBE regulations.

He preparations have been finalized to open 30 branches soon in addition the first one opened in its own building.

Gedaa bank was established by 28,000 shareholders with 552 million Birr paid-up capital.
