Kefialew Debasu, head of the Wag Khmra ethnic administration’s communication division, claims that due to the disruption of medical services and the lack of support in the Abergele and Tsagubji districts, people are dying every day in the Wag Khmra ethnic zone of the Amhara region.
Even though aid has previously been given, it has been claimed that the more than 67,651 displaced individuals residing in the region’s three shelters are suffering severe abuse and torture because they are only receiving the standard 15 kilos of wheat.
They are having difficulty staying the night, the official claims, and if things continue in this manner, it will be a problem for all of the residents.
It has been reported that 20 mothers and 5 children died due to a lack of medical facilities and staff, without any help from the zone’s residents who had not been displaced. Schools, hospitals, and locals all had their money and possessions taken from them.
