Accused Eleni Mekwanent was married to her late husband Wendafrash Getu, also known as Ashu, for more than three years. She lived in the area known as the back of the hospital in Kombolcha City, Amhara Region.
The tactical crime investigation division chief of Shishaber main police station in Kombolcha city, Commander Hirut Terfe, asserts that there were numerous disputes and disagreements between them due to the accuser’s jealousy.
The couple went out with their friends on August 3, 2022, and returned home at around 5:00 p.m. But they got into a fight because of a disagreement. Then, using a legally obtained gun that was kept at home, the accused shot him once in the head.
When neighbors came to their home for help after hearing gunshots, the wife allegedly threatened them, preventing her husband from getting better.
