According to Chief Sergeant Rustom Mezhar, the traffic accident investigator for the regional police commission, the accident happened last night at or around three in the morning in the region’s Sofi district, also known as Harwe Salto.
They explained that the truck driver lost control of the brakes while he was driving from Dredawa to Jigjiga City, which led to the accident.
As a result, the driver and eight additional people who were sleeping next to the road died.
According to ENA, two accident victims are currently receiving medical care for injuries both serious and minor.
