The building needs to be finished and put into operation, so the Macedonia Center for the Elderly and the Mentally Ill has planned a $1 million fundraising program.
A fundraiser will be broadcast live on Donkey Tube on Sunday, March 5, beginning at 3:00 PM, according to the statement.
The primary goal of the fundraiser is to raise $1 million of the $3.5 million required to install doors and windows in the building that is currently under construction, to complete the building, and to expand the center’s services to reach the masses.
According to reports, the G+12 modern hospital and elderly housing complex, which cost more than 2.3 billion birr, has had 70% of its construction finished after only three and a half years.
According to reports, the center will eventually serve 20,000 people in addition to the more than 7,500 elderly and mentally ill individuals for whom it currently provides services.
