ADDIS ABABA – The Council of Somali Regional State on Monday elected Mustefe Mohammed Omar as cheif administrator of the Eastern region of Ethiopia.
Mustefe has been serving as a Deputy President of the region for the last three years. He will now serve for a new five-year term as president.
At its first session, the Council also elected Ibrahim Usaman as deputy president.
Both the new president and deputy president were sworn in by the head of Somali regional state Supreme Court at the Council.
