Over 460 Ethiopian Nationals Airlifted from Saudi Arabia

ADDIS ABABA – More than 460 Ethiopian migrants, mostly women, came back home from Saudi Arabia on Friday, said foreign ministry, as the government continues repatriating its citizens from the Gulf nation.

Ethiopia, in partnership with various stakeholders, is currently bringing Ethiopian nationals stranded in various foreign countries back to their country.

In a statement, spokesperson office of the Ministry said 464 Ethiopians including 117 children have come back home from Jeddah.



The new arrivals has brought the number of Ethiopians repatriated this week, so far, to more than  900 with about 477 of them airlifted from the same Saudi Arabian city two days ago.

Officials from the Ministry have welcomed the returnees on both occasions upon their arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
