Ethiopia’s Minister Abiy Ahmed discussed bilateral and regional issues with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha.
Prime Minister Abiy visited Qatar to attend the opening session of the fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5).
On the sideline of the conference today, Abiy and Sheikh Tamim held talks on various bilateral ties and regional issues.
“We have explored our bilateral ties and discussed regional issues,” Prime Minister Abiy said in a tweet after the meeting.
“There are many opportunities for Qatari investments in various sectors in Ethiopia,” the PM added.
In Doha, Abiy also met with Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Father of the Emir of the State of Qatar.
The discussions revolved around supporting social development and investments in Ethiopia, according to the office of the prime minister.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his delegation returned to Addis Ababa concluding their trip to Qatar on Sunday afternoon.
