The CEO of Amhara Bank,Henok Kebede, was sacked by the board of directors for poor performance.
The board said that Henok’s careless and tardy work on the core banking tender process, as well as his bad utilisation of the company’s IT resources, were the reasons behind its forced termination last Friday.
The board claimed to have written to Mr. Henoch multiple times in an effort to resolve his shortcomings.
Henok worked as a secretary at Amara Bank for more than two years and four months after earning a master’s degree in international management from Greenwich University in London, England.
He has worked in the financial industry for more than 20 years, holding a number of positions at Dashan Bank and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
