The Ethiopia-Sudan border dispute will be settled through cooperation

Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed and Sudan’s President of the Sovereign Council, Abdul Fatah Al Burhan, have agreed to hasten the process of resolving the two countries’ border dispute.

According to Anadolu, the leaders reportedly spoke about resolving the border dispute and fostering economic cooperation.

The two countries discussed their common regional and international issues as well as their bilateral ties and cooperation, according to the statement.

In addition, it was reported that Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed discussed how to put the issues that had been agreed upon into practise during his recent trip to Sudan.

Tension between Ethiopia and Sudan in recent years has been exacerbated by the Great Renaissance Dam and the border dispute.
