Government institutions in the Tigray region instructed its employees to report to their offices within 10 days. Regional government employees are apparently starting to get their salary in arrears for the previous three months.
The Defence Forces have been in charge of the Tigray region since the war in northern Ethiopia began. In June 2021, it left the city of Mekele. The state government offices haven’t operated since that time.
