Two More Parks inaugurated in Addis Ababa

ADDIS ABABA – Two parks have been inaugurated in Addis Ababa with top officials of the city administration in attendant.

Ambassador and Bitwoded Goshu Woldetsadik parks, opened for public on Saturday, has taken the number of recently renovated or built parks in the city to five. The other three are Entoto, Unity and Friendship Parks.

The government of Ethiopia has recently been undertaking a wide range of beautification and greenery activities in the city to make the capital of Ethiopia among the top tourist destinations in Africa.

City officials said they will continue to invest and expand green recreational and tourism places in the metropolis.
Revamping Ambassador park – which lays in one hectare took a little two years and cost the city administration 49mln Birr, according to the press secretary office of the city..

Bitwoded Goshu Woldetsadik Park – named after the first mayor of Addis Ababa city, is placed in 4 hectares and built at a cost of 101mln Birr, the office added.

Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie, as well as former mayors of the city, Tefera Waliwa and Ali Abdo, were among the inaugurations of the parks which house recreational scenes, libraries and other necessary facilities.
